Book Recommendations

I always get so many questions on which books I recommend, so instead of answering every single question with the same books, I decided to make a list here on my blog with all the books I recommend! I'll continue to update this list when I read new books that I loved and recommend to others

The Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
Synopsis:
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
What I love about these:
Literally everything? This is one of my all time favorite series. It has a strong and kickass female protagonist, a great romance (Rowaelin all the way), the story is thought through SO well, like Sarah is the queen of dropping hints for things that will happen like 5 books later. There are so many likable characters, MAGIC, handsome Fae (did I mention Rowan already? I love Rowan). A lot of fighting and battles. Oh and eh...ROWAN.

The A Court Of Thorns And Roses trilogy/series by Sarah J Maas
Synopsis:
Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...
What I love about these:
Again: literally everything. I know it sounds cheesy but I just really, really love Sarah's books. This series has yet another strong female protagonist who is kickass in a completely different way from Celaena. The world in these books is so big and interesting. It has Fae and magic and betrayal and a lot of tears (a lot). And I love Feysand (so much omg). And Rhysand (I'm in love).

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
Synopsis:
All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.
But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says.
What I love about this:
The way it's written, almost like the entire book is a poem. It also explains what it's like to play an instrument so beautifully. This book spoke to me in such a deep way. This is a book I can read again and again and fall in love again with every reread.

The Stalking Jack the Ripper trilogy by Kerri Maniscalco
Synopsis:
Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord's daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father's wishes and society's expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle's laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.
What I love about these:
I love that this book is very different from the books I usually read, but contains everything I love: Accurate historical events, a pair of characters that have so much chemistry and a storyline that constantly keeps you hooked and thinking.

All the Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare
I don't think I need to put up a synopsis for these books, because I think most people have already read them. And the people who haven't probably heard so much about them that they also know what these books are about.
What I love about these:
Cassie created such a big world with an amazing cast of very different characters. The Shadowhunter books never bored me and keep you hooked until the very end, where they usually end with a lot of tears (looking at you Clockwork Princess). I just really love these and if you haven't read any or all of them you you definitely should. There are a lot of books but they are so worth your time.

Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys
Synopsis
It's 1941 and fifteen-year-old artist Lina Vilkas is on Stalin's extermination list. Deported to a prison camp in Siberia, Lina fights for her life, fearless, risking everything to save her family. It's a long and harrowing journey and it is only their incredible strength, love, and hope that pull Lina and her family through each day. But will love be enough to keep them alive?
What I love about this:
I love the history aspect of this book. I have a very big interest in history and especially WWII, but I didn't know much about the genocide of the Baltic people during this time. This book thought me so much about that. It's also written very beautifully and yet in a way that makes it such a fast read.
Another small thing I really loved about this is that the main character draws at the camps she goes to and puts everything she sees down onto paper. Since I draw and paint as well, I really loved that.

The Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard trilogy by Rick Riordan
Synopsis:
Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.
The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.
Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die...
What I love about these:
First of all: these books are absolutely hilarious, as expected from a Rick Riordan series. The characters are bright and quircky and so diverse, but not in a forced way. Besides that this series is based on Norse Mythology, which has always interested me. If you want a good laugh and a great story at the same time, these are without a doubt the books for you.
