Would You Rather: Book Edition

The Would You Rather Tag was created by RayKayBooks and I always love to watch/read these. This is the first post in which Shania and I will both be giving our opinions. As always: make sure to share your thoughts in the comments so we can talk about them!

1. Read only trilogy's or stand alones?

Amber: Trilogy's, definitely. I rarely read stand alones, because I always want to know what happens after the first book and I love long stories so a trilogy is the way to go for me.

Shania: Like Ambs, I'm more of a trilogy kinda person. Longer if possible. For me, it happens rarely that I enjoy a stand alone because everything is pushed into a single book so there is hardly any room for plot and character development.

2. Read only female or male authors?

Amber: I am gonna go with female authors, not because of some feminist reason or because I hate men or something, but simply because most of my favourite books are by female authors.

Shania: Both. I honestly do not care if an author is male, female or maybe even a unicorn. As long as the story appeals to me, I give it a read.

3. Shop at bookstores or online?

Amber: No matter how much I love going to bookstores, I am gonna go with online, just because they often have more choice in case of editions. The Throne Of Glass books for example: I got the UK paperbacks at the Waterstones here in Amsterdam, but I wanted the US hardcovers as well, which they don't sell at Waterstones, so I ordered them online.

Shania: I have always been more of a bookstore person. I like to hold the items I buy. As for books. There is a book outlet near where I live and they sell books for the cheapest prices, even cheaper than on the internet. So I love to drop by and look at what kinda books they sell this time. It happens rarely that I leave empty handed. Also, the Waterstones is at the end of the street as well....

4. All books become movies or TV shows?

Amber: TV Shows. I always feel like a lot more of the book can be told in a tv show, because there is a lot of episodes, while in a movie there is only about two hours to tell the entire story.

Shania: I would rather have books become TV shows, simply because there is more room.

5. Read 5 pages a day or 5 books a week?

Amber: I think every bookworm will choose for 5 books a week, simply because most of us, me including, have a way too big TBR that would get smaller really quick if we read 5 books a week.

Shania: 5 pages a day, I'm deeply sorry but I'm a slow reader. I have ADD, so I am the most easily distracted person ever. So when I'm reading you better not talk to me or even breathe in my direction, else I get distracted. But give me a day of silence and I finish a book within hours.

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?

Amber: A professional author, definitely. It has been my dream literally forever and since we are working on a novel already, I think that is the most logical answer.

Shania: AUTHOR :D !! We are already writing a fantasy novel, make sure to check it out, but I am more of a creative brain if I have to say so myself. I love coming up with scenarios and characters and worlds, etc.

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you've never read before?

Amber: This is actually a really hard question for me, because I love to reread my favourite books...but I am still gonna go with only read books I never read before, because that way I can always find new favourites.

Shania: New ones that I've never read before. I love change and new things. I change my style of dress as often as my mom changes the house interior (Which is a lot). And I feel like reading new books will never get me bored.

8. Be a librarian or bookseller?

Amber: For me it's definitely a bookseller, because I never go to the library.

Shania: Sexy librarian for the win haha.. No I'd go for bookseller. I'm not one for silence.

9. Only read your favourite genre or read everything except your favourite genre?

Amber: Why is this even a question?

Shania: Read above answer, given by Amber.

10. Only read physical books or Ebooks

Amber: Physical books all the way. I literally never read Ebooks, the screen gives me a major headache and I want to be able to hold the book and flip through real pages and put it on my shelf afterwards.

Shania: Physical books. I refuse to read Ebooks. I wanna feel the pages turning, I wanna be able to leave tear smudges on pages to mark the feels and pain and agony of the heart.
